Some common examples of ADAS features include:
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – Alerts the driver if the car is unintentionally drifting out of its lane.
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – Adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead.
- Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) – Automatically applies the brakes to prevent or reduce the severity of a collision.
- Blind Spot Detection – Alerts the driver if there’s a vehicle in the blind spot when changing lanes.
- Parking Assistance – Helps the driver park the vehicle by providing guidance or even taking over the steering.
ADAS is a key technology that is often seen as a precursor to fully autonomous driving.
